Super Fun House of Sexual Depravity
I have the saddest boner right now. It comes out in August and will run about 120 dolla. I ain’t got that kinda cash.

From this article.
So the Play Arts Meryl and Solidus figs have a release date

I don’t think I’ll be buying either one though. I just placed an order for the Cyborg Ninja, which ended up costing nearly twice as much as normal, ‘cause I was a dumbass and didn’t preorder it or buy it as soon as it came out.

Solidus is gorgeous, but I think his suit is painted a bit too dark. I’m worried the details will be hard to make out through the dark paintjob. As for Meryl, it’s difficult to make bare body parts look good in an articulated fig, but my real concern is her chest. Yes, this is a crucial issue to me. Her breasts are way too round (as opposed to the dangerously pointy pyramids she was endowed with in the PS1 game).

HOLY CHRIST, why haven’t we gotten any word on a Play Arts Psycho Mantis. I REQUIRE a Play Arts Mantis. Squeenix, my body bank account is ready. You may violate it as you please. Just give me a fancy posable, high-detail Mantis.

EDIT: SOLIDUS IS 150 DOLLARS HOLY FUCK. THAT’S MORE THAN THE HIGH END MASTER MODEL BERSERK FURY (which I have resigned myself to not getting)

Eaglemoss Killer Croc Repaint
Date: Feb 2012, Medium: Eaglemoss lead Killer Croc figurine, Games Workshop paint, Time: About 4 hours
The Eaglemoss Killer Croc is a really lovely fig with so much texture. The factory paintjob is pretty simple and doesn’t do much to bring out all the beautiful detail, so I decided to fix that. You can see the original paintjob here.
All the Eaglemoss superhero figs are made of lead. LEAD! I didn’t even know they made lead figs anymore! Each one comes with like 4 separate warning labels telling you not to eat them.
Since my goal was to bring out all the texture of the miniature, I relied entirely on washes and drybrushing. I’m quite happy with the finished result, but my pathetic photography skills don’t do it justice at all, even with a borrowed camera.
I didn’t use any varnish or sealant because I won’t be handling this mini and it stays in a plastic case. Also the only sealant I own right now is Armory Clear Matte Sealer, which is AWFUL.
This was so much quicker and easier than that McFarlane Psycho Mantis repaint I did a while back. I didn’t realize how much I missed painting minis. I’ve also got an Eaglemoss Larfleeze that still needs a new coat of paint. I’m not sure when I’ll get to working on that one, though.

My Beelzemon D-Arts figurine just came in the mail today. This is how I celebrate. I have no idea what happened to him, but I blame the Bruised Beaten Boys tumblr for inspiring me.
I tried to be bolder with shadows and lighting this time. The wing stumps were really tricky, I’ve never drawn amputation before (that I can remember). Drawing bruises on blueish skin was kind of weird.
TL;DR Plastic Crack Rambling:
The D-Arts Beelzemon fig is pretty sweet. I’ve never gotten a D-Arts fig before (oh how I pine for the BlackWarGreymon that I’ll never get my hands on), but they seem to be pretty good quality. I paid about $10 more for mine by buying it through Amazon instead of a shady Hong Kong seller.
It stands about 6.5 inches tall, and the box was more compact than I expected (also very engrishy). There’s a ton of articulation, and a second head and two extra sets of hands. The parts you can swap out are really hard to pop on, but at least they’re secure. The guns don’t stay in Beelzemon’s hands very well, but the holster keeps one inside very securely. The tail only has a single joint in the middle, but is built in a way that allows a lot more posing options than you’d expect. I’m pretty happy with it and would recommend it for any Beelzemon fans who need drawing reference and have 40-50 bucks to throw away.
EDIT: FFFFF I FORGOT HIS TEENY EXTRA PAIR OF WINGS. Digimon, why are your character designs so complicated.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BERSERK FURY HIGHEND MASTER MODEL BEING RELEASED SOMETIME NEXT YEAR. I was never able to get my hands on one as a kid, perhaps now I can get a fancy poseable one (for upwards of hundred dollars).
For interested parties, the Dark Horn is being released in Feb 2012 and the Liger Zero Jaeger in April.

So, I’ve been looking at my D&D miniatures collection, and sitting proudly atop the shelf is my collection of the D&D Icons chromatic dragons. All four of them. Four, because Wizards didn’t bother making a freakin’ green dragon to go along with the other big fellas. It looks wrong. My collection feels incomplete.

Leprenomichaun on RPG.net sums up my sorrow perfectly.

WIZARDS, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH I SHELLED OUT FOR THOSE FOUR GIANT DRAGON FIGS? AND YOU WON’T EVEN LET ME COMPLETE THE COLLECTION?! I CRY MYSELF TO SLEEP EVERY NIGHT AFTER GAZING UPON THE FOUR LONELY DRAGONS IN MY DISPLAY CASE. They will spend eternity incomplete and unfulfilled. Just as I will. All because of you, Wizards.
